hands with Save the Liver Foundation to spread the Awareness about
these Viruses. To mark, world Hepatitis day Save the Liver foundation
organised the Awareness the Programme here at Taj Banjara Hills,
Hyderabad.
Dr K.S.Somasekhar Rao , Gastroenterologist and
Hepatologist at Apollo Hospitals and Founder of Save The Liver Foundation said:
“Only with united action and increasing awareness about these viruses we can
achieve our goal of elimination. Today we come together as one community to
raise awareness of the disease and take what steps we can as individuals to
beat viral hepatitis.” Untreated Chronic Hepatitis Viruses( Hepatitis B and
Hepatitis C) can lead to Cirrhosis of Liver and Liver Cancer. Prevention of
Hepatitis B by vaccination, Early detection of the viruses in those who are
infected and appropriate treatment can prevent these diseases and save many
lives.
“We’re
asking the public to show their face and take action this World Hepatitis Day
in solidarity of the 325 million people living with viral hepatitis. Whether
that’s getting tested to help reduce transmission rates or posting a
#ShowYourFace selfie in support of those affected, every action brings us closer
to eliminating viral hepatitis.” We would be announcing multiple locations in
high prevalent zones all over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh where tests for
Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C would be done free of cost. Get tested , Know
